Mountains of the Pass

Sentry Mtn is the first peak you see as you enter the Crownest Pass from BC on Hwy 3 You might not immediately recognize this peak The previous shot was a south view of Mt Tecumseh, it looks 'crowned' in this west view Viewed close up, Mt Tecumseh's spires are peaks of their own
Allison Peak (left) and Mt Ward (right) are directly west of Crownest Mtn The Flathead Range at dusk, seen from North Coleman Snow covered Andy Good Peak A double lightning strike over Andy Good Peak
Mt Parrish in early January (tip of Mt Ptolemy to right) Mt Coulthard at the eastern edge of the Flathead Range The Lost Creek Fire of 2003 burned much of the area between The Pass and Mt Darrah Crowsnest Mtn, one of Alberta's most-recognized peaks
Willoughby Ridge was burned-over in the Lost Creek Fire of 2003 There are some excellent hiking and biking trails showing forest regen in the burn areas Wedge Mtn can only be seen from some spots in Coleman and Blairmore Turtle Mtn sits at the east end of Blairmore
The Frank Slide, on the east side of Turtle Mtn, was a large-scale natural disaster Rocky Mountain Sheep are often seen on Bluff Mtn., between Blairmore and the Frank Slide
